Starting out with a dark, partially-finished basement with some water damage, Heather contacted Elite Renovation LLC Rhode Island for a large-scale transformation of the space. Starting with a full demolition, we removed leaking window frames and repaired water damaged drywall. We worked with Heather on a new plan for the space, including a rearrangement of walls to replace some storage with a bathroom and home gym. Opening up a half wall allowed for the inclusion of a kitchenette flowing nicely into a home theater. Complete with a drop ceiling to incorporate the duct work, new vinyl flooring, and plenty of recessed lighting—the bright, finished space is unrecognizable from its starting point.
Progress comparisons
A leaking window frame was allowing water to come in. We sealed the window and replaced the drywall to make the area a backdrop for the home theater TV and pool area.
We removed a fireplace fixture, removed a half wall, and incorporated duct work into a drop ceiling full of bright recessed lighting. This formed the backdrop for a new kitchenette with bar seating.
For an area which was previously used as unfinished storage: We removed the dividing wall, added a different dividing wall to shrink the storage area, and finished the area as a home gym and half-bath defined by sliding barn doors.
